SPB Summer Reading Challenge!
Summer Reading Challenge
The summer holidays are here! Spending so much time away from school is a perfect opportunity to get stuck into reading new and exciting books. But what’s even more exciting is that we would love for you to create a special reading den over the summer!
This could look however you want it to and be made with whatever you choose. You could use a rug or a bedsheet to create a cubbyhole. You could even create a place from the book that you’re reading. Maybe, a castle out of cardboard? Or a tent by draping a sheet over the washing line in your garden. Your den can be as small as you want such as a cosy umbrella den, or as gigantic as you want. But, remember to make it a reading den. You can do this by adding some comfortable cushions or blankets to lie on. Don’t forget about a light so that you can read! And finally, your favourite books and some tasty snacks ?.
When we return to school in September, we will celebrate reading by adding photos of your fabulous dens onto our Reading display. So, take a photo, tweet it to our school twitter @SPBprimary and bring a copy in for our school display during the first week back.
Stay safe, get creative and enjoy some reading!
