Rationale
St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Primary school encourages all children to work hard and reach their potential in Design and Technology. This enables them to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to provide essential foundations for their futures. We are aiming to inspire a generation of engineers, designers and culinary experts through our carefully planned curriculum. Our children will be exposed to Design and Technology from the moment they start St Paschal Baylon, enabling them to foster a love for creating, innovating and designing their own purposeful products for an intended user. Through our spiralised Design and Technology curriculum, the children will be able to build upon prior knowledge to continually develop and stretch their understanding, allowing them to develop a critical understanding of mechanisms, structures, food, computer aided design, electrical systems and textiles. Our children will have the opportunity to participate in exciting and inventive projects using a range of quality resources to aid their learning. Design and Technology is a fundamental subject in our curriculum at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Primary school.
