Merseyside School Games

On Thursday 5th July some pupils participated in the Merseyside School Games!  Read on to find out how SPB got on!

Netball

The Year 6 High 5 Netball Team had a wonderful day, in the glorious sunshine, at the Merseyside School Games on Thursday. After attending the ‘Opening Ceremony’ and showing off some of their wonderful dance moves, the children then went on to compete in the group competition and faced some of the best teams on Merseyside. Despite the tough opposition, the children managed to win three out of their seven games. As a result, they finished 5th in their group – a great achievement!

Swimming

What a fantastic achievement to be placed 4th in the county of Merseyside!  Our swimmers were fantastic in their individual events but excelled in their relays proving collectively they outshone their competitors.  A massive congratulations to Oliver Buckley, Dylan Loughran, Ben Foulkes, Scott Barnet, Lewis Poole, Jolene Wong, Abbi Wigfield, Ava Gleeson and Hope Windrow and a big thank you to parents and families who came to cheer us on.

Girls’ Football

Well done to the Girls’ Football Team who participated in the Merseyside School Games on Thursday. The standard of the tournament is Level 3 and considered the highest in the country!
The girls’ competed well, despite having some players missing.  Well done girls!
