Equality Objectives
Equality Statement
The Equality Act 2010 states that; “schools cannot unlawfully discriminate against pupils because of their sex, race, disability, religion or belief and sexual orientation.”
St Paschal Baylon School is committed to the Equality Act 2010 and to ensuring that every individual is treated with equal respect, dignity and care. All pupils are entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum and to have equal access to all resources, experiences and opportunities in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our Equality Objectives are as follows:
- To ensure parity between boys’ and girls’ attainment in reading, writing and maths.
- To ensure pupils in vulnerable groups (e.g. SEND/Pupil Premium) make the same rates of progress as other pupils.
- To ensure that the school environment is as accessible as possible to all children, staff, parents and visitors.
- To promote and understanding of the rights of every individual through learning about the United Nations Convention for the Rights of the Child and uphold our Rights Respecting Schools Gold Award.
These objectives have been set in 2022 and will be reviewed annually with a view to achievement in three years’ time (2025/26).
